An unusual intersection of lives: Lindsey Dodson (at right), an educator who has been volunteering for eight years as an audiobook narrator at our Washington DC studio, was delighted to meet Steph Fernandes, a blind law school student who has been using Learning Ally books since she was a child. Very few of our 5,000-plus studio volunteers ever have a chance to meet student members on the ”listening end” of their labor and good will. Lindsey was one of eight DC studio volunteers who attended our national Roundtable, themed ”The Impact of Access,” on Capitol Hill — where she met Steph and five other remarkable students with reading disabilities who were honored with National Achievement Awards.
